Description

Many people ask for a property where they can get away from it all and this truly is it.  The property is set in 14 acres of rolling countryside, it also includes 2 small lakes.  This unique property is self-sufficient, eco-friendly and has panoramic views of the mountains and is a great Portuguese getaway.  Your nearest neighbours are about 1km away.  Although very secluded it is within 40 minutes transfer of Faro Airport, 10 minutes drive from shops and restaurants and 10 - 15 minutes from some of the most beautiful villages in the Algarve.

The property is spacious, well laid out and furnished in a unique and a charming way to the owners' high standard.  As you enter the property there is what is described as an "inner" hallway which has a seating area and a cloakroom with a toilet and washbasin.  To the right down two steps is a living area which has seating for 6 and a wood burning stove.  Within the spacious living area is a dining area which has a table with seating for 6.  Off the living space is a kitchen which is well equipped.  There is also a utility room with a washing machine and sink unit.  From the kitchen you can come back into the inner hallway the opposite way.  In the centre of the house there is a small open courtyard with windows and doors to the lounge and hallway, giving a light airy feeling.

To the left of the inner hallway and down two steps are the bedrooms, an airy double bedroom has an en suite shower room with a toilet and basin.  The second bedroom has two twin beds and en suite bath/shower room.  From the second bedroom there are some steps up to an area with books games and seating to relax in.  There is a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.

The property has numerous seating areas outside, whether you want the shade or not, the choice is yours.  The property has an elegant glass topped table with 6 chairs outside for your summer needs,  there is also sun beds and a BBQ.  There is ample parking.  The property has its own private swimming pool.  The property has its own eco-friendly power supply and water supply so you really are part of the countryside, which is managed on your behalf.

The area is great for walking, and sightseeing; on the edge of the Serra Do Caldeirão and next to Serra Do Monchique you get a real feeling of being part of Portugal. Dotted around are some great value Portuguese restaurants with real authentic food.  There is a nearby village with springs so that you can gather your drinking water.

Alte is probably one of the most picturesque villages in central Algarve countryside. There is no sense of time while you stroll around the backstreets of the village. The views are breath taking. São Marcos de Serra is typical white washed village.  Silves is the old capital of the Algarve and very much one of my favourite towns. Its sits at the foot of the Monchique mountains.

Just a 25 minute drive away is Gale beach, one of the longest and quietest beaches in the Algarve. The Algarve has a great rugged cost with many grottos.  There are numerous golf courses if you fancy a hole or two. 

This is an excellent location for a private, peaceful holiday, with a real feel for the Algarve countryside, whilst still having easy reach to various parts of the Algarve

Being Eco-friendly means they are only a few slight adjustments that have to be made when staying in this property, such as only using the washing machine a maximum of twice a day and preferrably in the mornings.  A small trade off gives you a fabulous property in a gorgeous location.

Rates

BOOKING DEPOSIT... A 25% non refundable deposit is required on booking. The balance is required (plus returnable breakages and damages deposit £150) 2 calendar months prior to guests' arrival
CHANGE OVER DAY... Normally Saturday but other days will be considered
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE... Arrival after 14H00 and departure before 10H00.
